Al-Sehar Foundation is doing preparatory activities for the organization of a 1-day seminar at Lahore Press Club on developmental problems of Shahi Mohalla. Expected participants will include community members. Expand
Al-Sehar Foundation facilitated Center for Research, Communication, and Dialogue (CRCD) Islamabad and JIGSAW Company Paris in the recording of a 52’ minutes documentary on traditional musicians and dancers of Lahore. Expand
General Body Meeting of Al-Sehar
Executive Body of Al-Sehar (2006-08)
Annual general body meeting of Al-Sehar Foundation will be held in the first week of July. Foundation members will get de-briefing on last one years activities and progress made during that period. They will give suggestions and feedback in planning next one year activities of the foundation. Expand

Al-Sehar’s Upcoming Charity Shows
Non-Formal Centers Lack Infrastructure and Facilities
Al-Sehar Foundation has planned to organize a series of charity shows within and outside the country. Charity fund will be used for the welfare and development of marginalized and poorest communities of Old Lahore. Foundation has currently a data base of more then 60 renowned and emerging artists in classical music, dance and folk/sufi singing. Expand
Centers’ teachers in a recent meeting (June 1st 2006) with Al-Sehar’s executive body members demanded urgent action on the provision of necessarily required facilities for more then 120 enrolled children. Six centers were established in teachers’ houses who gave space on volunteer basis. Expand
Al-Sehar Demand Urgent Action by Women Ministry
Concerns over Human Rights Violations in Shahi Mohalla
Al-Sehar Foundation, during a local community meeting, passed a resolution asking for urgent actions from women ministry and women rights organizations regarding the multifarious problems of prostitutes’ communities and rising flesh trade activities all across the country. Expand
Zulfiqar Haidree (Founder President) expressed deep concerns over the gross violation of human rights in Shahi Mohalla. While attending a seminar at Islamabad, he told that Shahi Mohalla community is deprived of basic human and development rights. They are facing harassment, violence, and injustice from the hands of law enforcing agencies and criminal elements. Expand
